System Type: Vermont Slate Company Natural Slate with copper details
The re-roofing project at St. Mary’s Student Parish presented many challenges. Most significantly, the pitch of the roof, which is a knee-shaking 19/12 slope! We also had to contend with funeral/wedding services, the Ann Arbor art fair and the fact that the roads in front of the parish were both re-surfaced (and at times closed) while we were working on this project.
Working in conjunction with the City of Ann Arbor building department, the road crews and the staff at the Parish, we were able to get our work done in a timely fashion and without too much disruption to church services.
The replacement of the slate, which included custom built-in 24 oz. copper gutters, copper valleys and copper flashing details were overseen by both Lewis Greenspan Architects and S.M.E. Consulting. We are very proud to have installed this roof and we look forward to people enjoying our handiwork for the next 100 years.
